I found something by accident in my car that I did not know existed. I found it when I was looking for something else.

A little background will help. For months the cruise control in my Honda has not worked. I kept thinking that I needed to check the fuses to see if that was the problem. I did not check it and just did not have cruise control, which is what I thought.

The other day I was in a funeral and looked for the switch for the emergency flashers. It took me a while, but during the search you guess what I found? You are right, I found the off and on button for the cruise control. I turned it on and a light went on and it worked. I also found the emergency flashers. I laughed at myself.

I had cruse all along but it was just not on. I needed to turn it on so I could enjoy going down the road at a consistent speed.

The Christian life is much like this experience. I have more than I think and all I need to do to turn it on. However, when I am searching for something else God surprises me with answers to age old problems. He is the God of the past and of the now. He is relevant. He is on time. He knows when to turn it on.
